#7 - Mark Kotsay

My Two Cents - Before he was the manager of the Oakland A's, Mark Kotsay had a 17 year Major League Baseball career. Most of his career was spent with the Padres, A's, and Marlins, but he also made appearances with the Brewers, Braves, White Sox, and Red Sox. I remember Mark Kotsay as a player, but do not have much of an opinion of him. I like this photograph of him running used on the front of the card. I miss the teal and black Marlins uniforms.

The Card Back- Twenty assists is a serious number. Kotsay had a great arm and was frequently amongst the assist leaders during his years as a full-time player. He still had a strong arm as a part-time player, but not enough assists to make the leaderboards. You'd think there would be a video somewhere of him gunning someone out on the bases, but there is not.....

  1. Played for both of my favorite teams (A's & Padres)... so he was a regular and solid player in my mind.
